Monthly Summary: March 2016

I feel that March has been a slow reading month for me for some reason.
I think partly that’s because I’ve discovered the world of podcasts and have been listening to some of those during time I would usually be reading, and also because I started watching Turn: Washington’s Spies (more on that in my next Beyond the Books) and became interested in the history of that time so started reading online about the people and events featured in the show.
So, here’s the month of March in review…

Another Monthly Summary? Already? I’ve managed to do a fair bit of reading this month, and have kept on top of my reviews, but don’t feel as though I’ve updated my blog that often. Anyway, here’s what happened on Pages and Tea during February…

Monthly Summary: January 2016

Welcome to the first Monthly Summary of 2016 here on Pages and Tea.

I’ve had a slow but great start to my reading year. I participated in Bout of Books, which I always enjoy because I like the combination of reading and regularly updating my progress on the blog. The chance to find new blogs and new future reads is always good too, so I’m already looking forward to the next Bout of Books. I was lucky in that I picked a book I started to enjoy straight away, Promise of Blood by Brian McClellan. It was so good I’ve already started the second book of the trilogy, despite saying I was going to try and read a few books from my TBR pile first!

So, here’s part else happened on the blog throughout January.

Monthly Summary: November 2015

November has been such a quiet month for me in terms of both blogging and reading. Somehow I just haven’t found to the time to settle down and totally lose myself in a book for a while. It’s a shame because I’m really enjoying the books I’m reading, but perhaps part of the problem is I’ve currently got 3 books on the go. Maybe I should just stick to one in future. I didn’t do a proper Reading Challenges post for November as I didn’t actually manage to finish anything.

It looks like December is going to be a pretty busy time, and I’ll be away for some of it, so I don’t think there will be many updates on Pages and Tea (I’ll try to at least finish my Reading Challenge posts and complete an End of Year Summary though). I’ll be back in the New Year with a whole load of new posts.

Time to sum up another month here on Pages and Tea.  I cannot believe how fast time is going at the moment.  Writing my Reading Challenges post a few days ago I realised there’s no way I’ll have enough time to complete some of my challenges now, unless I pick some really short books to read, but for some reason I can’t seem to tear myself away from MASSIVE books…

Monthly Summary: September 2015

Ah September, you’ve been and gone already.  I love this time of year.  The hot weather of Summer is abating, and the cooler days that signal the arrival of Autumn are upon us.  I’m not much of a Summer person, and find myself flagging during the hot weather, so I’m feeling a lot more enthusiasm now my favourite season is almost here, which I think is reflected in my returning to updating my blog regularly again.

Monthly Summary: June 2015

Here we go with another Monthly Summary, but first just a word to say I’ll be away for the majority of July, so if there’s no activity on the blog it’s not because I’ve lost interest or anything, just that it’s summer break time, but I’ll be back with regular content later this month or at the latest early next month.  Until then, I hope everyone is enjoying their summer!

What an incredibly quiet blogging month June has turned out to be.
I blame the brief arrival of the good weather, which meant I could get out into the garden more and get some jobs done.
Also, I think I was experiencing the beginnings of a reading slump earlier this month, I just couldn’t seem to find ‘that’ book, you know, the one you just can’t tear yourself away from.  Hopefully I’ve found something to engage my attention now and it’s back to reading as usual.
For now, I leave you with…
