Welcome back to another Monthly Summary here on Pages and Tea.
What did July bring my way in terms of books? I indulged my new interest in the Charlie Parker series by reading the latest, A Book of Bones. I enjoyed it, and was glad I’d read the previous novel, The Woman in the Woods first, for the background. Hopefully I’ll go back and try some of the earlier books in the series, and there are plenty to choose from.
Next was the exciting, twisted-filled, aptly-titled Twisted by Steve Cavanagh. What a ride! I never saw any of it coming, and each twist just added to the story. Cavanagh is another new-to-me author, but I’m sure I have a copy of Thirteen, so I’ll have to read that soon.
From there it was onwards into Good Omens. I watched the new tv series and that let me wanting to read the book because it was so different. I’m reading it at the moment, so no doubt it will get another, more detailed mention next month.
The blog has actually been quite quiet during July. I’ve posted a couple of reviews and participated in Top Ten Tuesday, but that’s been about it. Here’s an update…

Freebie! AKA The Books of 2019 Past and Future…
Things always go a little quiet at this time of the year – vacations and other social endeavours just seem to take over don’t they.
I’ve always fancied the Charlie Parker series – not least of all because I used to have a colleague with the same name, but I’ve never got round to them and now the complete series seems so daunting – I’m guessing there must be about 20 books by now.

I think the latest Charlie Parker is no. 17. It’s a long one, about 700 pages I think. I’ll definitely have to go to the beginning but it’ll probably take me ages to read them all, what with all the other new books I can’t seem to resist. We need more reading hours in the day 😊
