Booking Ahead: May 2019

Booking Ahead is a feature on Pages and Tea where I glance through my never-ending TBR list/pile and select a few potential reads for the coming month. If I’m not reading books I love talking about books I’d like to read, so this post is a perfect excuse to do just that.

Welcome to another wander through my TBR pile. Here’s a rare thing though – I have countless books and no idea what I’d like to read next, so compiling this post for the coming month is a little tricky as I’ll probably just go wherever the reading mood takes me, which is a unique thing. I usually have at least some clue what I want to start next. Anyway, here are at least a couple of (almost) certainties!

New Books

A Boy and his Dog at the End of the World by C. A. Fletcher – This sounds like a quite different take on the Post-Apocalyptic scenario that I usually enjoy reading so much. I’ve seen many good reviews for it already, and am really looking forward to starting it.

Books from the Backlist

The Murder of Roger Ackroyd by Agatha Christie – I’m still enjoying discovering the stories of Agatha Christie, and I’ve already started reading this one. I like the character who has apparently become the new Hastings in assisting Poirot in the investigation, and I am enjoying the mystery of who murdered poor Roger Ackroyd.

What are you hoping to read this month? Have you read of my picks, and if so what did you think?
See you again next month for another Booking Ahead.

I hope you love A Boy and His Dog. And, I really want to fit some more Agatha Christie into my reading – I’ve picked up a couple of hers recently I just need to push myself – if you ever fancy doing a buddy read just let me know – that would give me that extra nudge I think 😀
