Monthly Summary: August 2018

Welcome to another Monthly Summary on Pages and Tea.

There’s a change in the air – it’s much cooler, fresher, and there’s been plenty of rain. There’s something lovely about a weekend afternoon spent curled up with a good book and the sound of gentle rain pattering against the windows. It’s a sign that my favourite season is on its way, and I’m glad that all that really hot weather has passed by…

So, what did August bring me in the way of books?
I followed Poirot and Hastings through a series of short cases in Poirot Investigates. Much as I enjoyed this short story collection I’m still more of a fan of big novels.
A Shot in the Dark provided a dose of crime and comedy/farce and then I was back into a much-loved territory of fantasy, folklore and magic with Spinning Silver by Naomi Novik.
From there I was bound for the French Riviera during the 1940s for an engaging mystery and a Fatal Inheritance.

As well as the books there’s also been another edition of the Bout of Books read-a-thon, and I always enjoy this event. I like the daily updating of my reading progress on the blog, and the chance to find out what other people are reading during the week.
As a final nod to what proved to be a very hot summer I completed the Life’s A Beach Book Tag.

Here’s an update of recent happenings on Pages and Tea…
