Booking Ahead: August 2018

Booking Ahead is a feature on Pages and Tea where I glance through my never-ending TBR list/pile and select a few potential reads for the coming month. If I’m not reading books I love talking about books I’d like to read, so this post is a perfect excuse to do just that.

Welcome to another wander through my endless TBR pile. I’ve finally cleared that small backlog of much-requested library books, so this month’s reading could turn out to be totally random. In an attempt to have at least a little plan, let’s have a look what I might try to read this month:

New Books

The Outsider by Stephen King – No more lingering on the top of my TBR pile, tempting me with that bright red cover. This really will be the month I finally get my hands on the new Stephen King novel. At least, I hope it will…

Adrift by Rob Boffard – Something a little Sci-Fi. This sounds so good – a stranded tourist space shuttle, a group trying to survive as resources are limited, and a mystery ship hunting them.

Books from the Backlist

Rotherweird by Andrew Caldecott – Somehow this book has totally passed me by until now. I saw it in an article of some suggested reads for summer and it caught my attention. It sounds like something I might enjoy and I can get a copy from the library.

Poirot Investigates by Agatha Christie – It’s been too long since I read a Poirot story. By too long I probably mean a month or two, but that’s long enough, right? This is a collection of short stories. After a few really long books I’m actually looking forward to something shorter for a change.
